The construction lumber got delivered today. I did not pay much attention to it, but Alec did the quick math on the number of rows of 2x4 studs. It seemed to him that we had much more than we had estimated. But, my invoice showed that I had paid for the correct number of pieces I had ordered.
We moved the number of pieces we needed into the basement and left the excess on the driveway area.
The best way I can describe it is to say that there might have been a minor case of dyslexia in the storage area of the lumber yard. I ordered and paid for 153 studs. They delivered 351 studs. I tried to have them pick up the excess amount, but it was a complicated hassle. To add to the dilemma, it had been raining. So when they finally sent a truck to pick them up, their forklift could not get into the muddy driveway area where the pile lay. The driver left.
I did not pursue this any further and neither has the lumber yard. We took them over to Aaron and Steph. They now have enough lumber to finish their basement when the time comes.
