Having finished my Regina visits, I started my journey to Pieter and Marg's place out at Katepwa Beach. But not before I joined Mary and Richard for lunch. We did that at the Seven Oaks Hotel pub. I think they are regulars there because when they walked in a whole table of people shouted 'RICHARD!'. Felt like a line out of the old Cheers sit-com TV series.
The Seven Oaks brought back some memories for me. When I was delivering KFC as a teenager, I would deliver often to that hotel. It was then a Holiday Inn. I must have been there hundreds of times, almost all of them of Friday and Saturday nights.
Things were the usual at Piet and Marg's place, quiet, calm, and very nature-like. It is such a great place for them to live during the summer.
Piet grows all sorts of vegetables on their lot. Given that it is the first week of July, everything is maturing nicely.
