Spreading the ashes of Lezley Zwaal [Jul 4, 2026]

An everlasting view for Lez.

We drove to Old Baldy, the tall hill in Cypress Hills where we were joined by more family and friends. It is formally called Bald Butte but no one calls it that.

We spread Lez's ashes on the top just where she had decided years ago she would have the best view of the prairies. The weather was wonderful and the usual prairie wind was blowing.

After some time of reflection, we left the park and drove back to Maple Creek. We wanted to grab a quick hot dog to hold us until Regina, so we drove towards Jasper Street, only to find that their annual Heritage Day was in full swing. A hot dog vendor was soon found and we enjoyed those and the heritage scenery.

Then it was off to Regina, a long 400 kilometer drive.
