Purolator paranoia.
Lee ordered an item online around Christmas. The online tracking system provided by the vendor showed it creeping across Canada from Burlington Ontario to Edmonton Alberta. Not long after the status showed as being on the truck for delivery and then followed by "Weather delay - service will resume weather permitting". Hmmmm. Their depot is about five kilometers from our apartment. The weather is clear blue sky, no wind and above freezing. Lee is miffed.
So we drive to the depot in the evening and ask that they simply pull the package off the truck (they are all parked inside now) and we will take it with us.
They are not allowed to do that. Huh No, they are not allowed to do that. Huh, again It is a lower priority package and the driver may not have enough time to deliver everything on the truck on a single day. They will try again tomorrow or next week or next month or, whenever.
It turns out Lee was able to register an "intercept" using their telephone voice operator. This should cause them to pull the package off the truck.
I am waiting for the request to fill out an online satisfaction survey. My first suggestion will be to replace the weather delay reason with one that says they have too few trucks and too few drivers, so good luck!
