Watching the Oil Kings.
We've just been to our fourth Edmonton Oil Kings hockey game in seven days and we are having a wonderful time. It helps that they won three of the four, of course. But, we get a huge sense of entertainment from watching that team. And leaving the car in a warm underground parking garage which is attached right to the hockey arena, Rogers Place, doesn't hurt either There's something neat about leaving your coats in the car even though it is freezing -20c outside. I guess we've earned it.
Hockey has been my favourite sport to watch ever since I was a youngster. That was back in the day when Hockey Night in Canada was on TV on Wednesday evenings. Mom was out with her girfriends, and dad was "babysitting". I would sit on the back of the couch that dad sat in, and I would brush his hair. LOL Hockey became my favourite game to watch.
Then, as a teen, I met Lee and learned that his mom loved watching hockey. She was a die hard Toronto fan, Lee a die hard Flyers fan. Interesting evenings when the teams met LOL.
Regina Pats became our local hockey night, taking mom Zwaal along to the games. We have never stopped watching local teams.
