Grandma lived an incredible 91 years.
We got a call from Ralph at about 5:30 am to let us know that Grandma had passed in her sleep in Nanaimo General Hospital. We are so glad we got to see her about ten days ago when we were in Parksville,
Her obituary will be in the Regina Leader Post.
It has been a "roller coaster" of emotion this past week. It is difficult to say "Good Bye" knowing it would be our last one. But we do not live forever. Memories keep flooding back of things mom and I did together, sewing clothing, going for a morning jog before I headed to high school, visiting the Netherlands. Her patience and encouragement and advice she gave with my sewing that led to quilting. I am finishing a quilted cushion cover that she hand-stitched. It is a Hawaiian design, stitched with very tiny stitches. She was meticulous!
Her philosophy was always to note that if you are going to do something, do your best. Hence her trophies and medals lined our rumpus room wall , Racquetball, Golf, Marathons.
Love you forever.
