We could not get out of the pasture.
We took our first real road trip with the Tiguan, after Aaron had texted to say there was a car show in the Agriplex in Thorhild. When we got there, it was obvious the car show was a side attraction to the rodeo being held next to the Agriplex. We wiggled our car into the horse pasture, aka, parking lot and saw a number of nice vintage cars and tractors.
We decided to drive back onto the main street in town, which was strangely called neither Main Street nor Railway Avenue.
The first order of business was to get out of the horse pasture. The single lane we used to get in had long been filled with parked cars. There was actually no way out! We finally drove over to the back of the pasture where the rodeo participants were grooming their horses. Next to them was a small path that led to a small opening in a fence and brought us out of the pasture near the grain elevator. Phew!
Well, time for some small town treats. The former Scotiabank building on the corner of Main and Railway, sorry, 7th Avenue and 1st Street is now a cake shop. And what cakes they make! We shared one in the shop and took two home. They will be enjoyed over the next few days.
The car show, our destination - who knew it would be a horse pasture. Watch where you drive! There were minimum (aka no) ok few roads and plenty of road plops. In all fairness there was a quanset where many older vehicles were able to be viewed. It brought back memories of living back in Saskatchewan.
