Too many motorcycles to count.

We took a Sunday drive through the foothills and rolling countryside west of Calgary.
The scenery is very, well, pastural. Beautiful big homes, lots of horses, fields of hay bales and very little traffic.
We got to Longview and there must have been close to a hundred motorcycles on either side of the highway in front of the Twin Cities Saloon. We had seen many, many motorcycles on the road today, with a lot of them on Highway 629 and 22 which are each lazy wonderful drives for both sports cars and motorcycles.
Speaking of sports cars. As we had lunch in the bistro across from the school in Longview, a lot of classic and sports cars drove into the school parking lot. A lot of Mustangs, some Corvettes, a couple of circa 1950 GMC half-tons and a lonely Nissan 300Z. We thought of walking over after lunch to take some shots (the Red 1952 GMC Half Ton had Lee excited). We paid our bill and got up to walk over - they were all gone. It must have been an organized ride from Longview to somewhere. Oh well.
The view leaves no doubt to the choice of name to the townsite Longview. The mountains in the distance are very faint layers of blues, and the gentle rolling land is currently layers of gold as the various crops are ready for harvest. And it truly is miles and miles of miles and miles. Ranching country. I got my fill of old barns, and snapped a great photo one of one old icon that still stands. No, I don't have a farming background - barns fascinate my artistic side. Somewhere in our files, I have barns and grain elevators, which will surface one day when we are no longer travelling. Not quite ready for that day yet, but we can feel it coming. I'm thinking a series of small quilted wall-hangings. Patterns for sale, why not.
