Red or white.

Bear River RV Park, Stewart BC (2 stars)

We head into downtown Stewart (two blocks long, one street wide) for some supplies.

We wanted to get some wine, but the BC Liquor Board store is closed on Mondays. So, Lee decided to try out the King Eddy Hotel liquor store. Not being sure where it was in the hotel, he inquired at the front desk. The clerk replied "Hang on I'll go unlock the door". Huh So I asked if I should follow her. She says, no, just go around the corner of the building. OK. Lee wanders over there and sees two doors, one for the bar and one that says liquor store. After a few minutes, the clerk unlocks the door, moves behind the counter and ask what I want. Lee tells her he wants some wine. She replies "Red or white".

I've seen this movie before. In the 80's Lee went with Bob Fikowski to Sparwood BC to do some software work on the mini computer that Bob had in his lab there. After working all day we went to the local restaurant in the hotel (only restaurant in only hotel). Bob asked to see the wine list. The host replied "Red or white". Too funny.

Anyways, the King Eddy hotel liquor store is actually a second door into the bar and you end up at one end of the counter where they make drinks. You actually have to peer over the counter to see what they have in stock and then make a selection. OK, two reds and two whites and we are out of there. Lee hears the sound of the door locking behind him as he leaves.

So, we also wanted to wash the Salmon Glacier dust off Chuck. There is a self-serve outdoor car wash and you get loonies at the hardware store two blocks down. Yup. So, deposit some loonies and notice a sign that says "Pull trigger to get water volume". Lee thinks that is a useless sign because all self-serve car washes require you to use the trigger on the wand, right The first loonie drops and the wand starts to spray water with significant force. Lee pulls it out of the holder and squeezes the trigger. Now the water comes out with nuclear force, enough to peel the paint off the truck. Chuck is now nice and clean.

Monday - well, drove into "town", picked up a few groceries, poked into the hardware store and bought two mouse traps. Now catching up on the blog and a few photos. Another lazy day.

Day's not over. Maybe there will something to talk about LOL. It is actuarlly great to enjoy a very peaceful afternoon. For a rare time, Lee actually has more comments than I do! WOW!
