The Golden Triangle     [Jun 24, 2023]

We had read about old mining activity in the area in brochures. They were set up in the early 20th century and most were shut down by 1950.

We did not expect to see the significant mining activity in what a worker called the Golden Triangle, which is about halfway to the glacier. There are five companies mining for gold in this area and their activity is on a huge scale.

Lots of mining activity - beats panning for gold. The large equipment is clearing away the forest exposing the vast layers of rock that has been mined since time before Canada became a country. It is labelled the Golden Triangle. A lot of information regarding this mining in BC if you pop onto the web and search the story of The Golden Triangle.
