We saw a marmot cross the road on the way up and managed to get a photo of the little creature.

Once up at the glacier viewpoint however, some other people up there spotted what they called a gopher. We scrambled over and determined it was a hoary marmot just like the one we had seen on the road earlier. True to their nature, they are not shy and just go about their business.

Oh I have a new favourite critter. The Marmot. The camera lens is as close as it could get without annoying it. The Marmot is smaller than a Groundhog which is apparently not as colourful as the Marmot. Yes, both are rodents, but they are cute!
