Dry on the lake.

Map - Prince George to Fort St. James

Paarens Beach Provincial Park, Fort St. James BC (2 stars)

Lee thinks it has been over six months since we last dry camped, meaning we have no power, water, sewer or internet. He had to think it through a bit to make sure all dual fuel appliances are now on propane. The generator fired up quite nicely considering it had not been started for over six months.

We are right on the lake with only the campground road between us and the water. There were people swimming in the lake until about 5 pm.

So here we sit with no internet. Quite refreshing actually.

It didn't take us long to remember the world of dry camping. We have had all the luxuries - power, water, internet, cell phone all connected for quite some time now, and we are now appreciating and missing what we don't have. The fridge, fortunately can run on propane - or we would have some real issues. The big water 40L water jug has resumed it's old spot. The weather has been clear and sunny at Paarens Beach Prov. Park, but it is quite cool. Mid afternoon was hot, but did not last long before cooling off. Sleeping well - after more hiking!

Taking photos galore - no longer keeping a count. So much to see.
