Rolling down Highway 501.
We continued our travel from Milk River east along AB Highway 501. The word highway is used somewhat loosely here; it is for a long stretch just a gravel road albeit with good signage.
We stopped at Pendant d'Oreille to see the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Community Centre.
A little further down the 501, we took a side trip to Manyberries. Cute street names.
Finally, we reached Highway 41. It was a short trip into Elkwater for an ice cream and then over to the Reesor Ranch for the night.
It was pitch dark with no moon and a clear sky when we went outside of our cabin around 11 pm. The stars were incredible. We had not seen the Milky Way for years. It was amazing.
