Many times in the blog the Macarena are referenced. Twelve women who lived in the new Edmonton neighbourhood of La Perle. We met through our children's playschool days. We had the common bond of leaving our first born in the hands of some else who would greatly influence our precious little ones. A very big grin is on my face at this moment. We were not in control.

It didn't take us long to realize that the friendship would be very beneficial as we could babysit each other's little ones so we could get the groceries, or a haircut or a medical appointment. We eventually started taking a Friday evening once a month at one of the ladies' homes and (yes, leaving the little one to dad's evenings). It was great for all of us - and I'm sure we were all better for those years.

Last evening the Macarena gathered to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversay of Macarena Judy and hubby Dave with their family. It was a very special event and a beautiful evening.
