Water taxis are essential to quick traffic in the Rotterdam harbour. We took one to the Hotel New York, which is the former Holland Amefrica Line head office building. Coffee on the outside patio and people watching.
Lee's grandfather sold fruit and vegetables to the restaurant known as In Den Rustwat (In the rest a bit) which is a Michelin recognized French restaurant in east Rotterdam. We went there tonight to enjoy it once more (we have been there 4 - 5 times before). The service was exceptional.
Afterwards, the maitre'd showed us the kitchen and the original part of the building, which was built in 1592. Amazing.
Leo and Lee are two months apart in age and the the two oldest of that generation in the Zwaal family. We had lunch with him today on the Karel Doormanstraat across from the Doelen theatre.
He is well and enjoying life. His memory of events and dates is exceptional as we talked about family members and their lives.
