The fog finally burns off.
Remembering Oma, Adrie van Baren - ZwaalSurfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
It's been a few days of intense fog, but today it started to burn off around noon. It's nice to see the sun again.
Lee reflects on his mom's 100th birthday today. She has been gone quite a while (19 years) but he and all family members can still chuckle about things she did and words and phrases she used. Having spent the first half of her life in the Netherlands and the second half in Canada, we can truly say she spoke neither language perfectly in later years. It is generally referred to as Dinglish, 'met' some words in Dutch and some in English. Lez has a T-shirt with a saying that refers to the same thing and Lee always think of Oma when he reads those words.
And the Leafs are still trying to win the Cup since she saw them do it in 1967.
Today's time at the computer was spent working on a Facebook post remembering Lee's mom. She would have been 100 today.
The table at the back of the RV, my Out My Back Window view, is now hosting a few projects. OK, Hobbes has to walk over an ironing pad, a cutting board and craft tote of a project leftover just to get to his basket. Fortunately, the hum of the sewing machine does not keep him awake.
And what a view as I enter the adventures on our blog, or sew a few pieces of fabric together, or cut a new project to sew.
A walk on the boardwalk this afternoon gave us some great sunshine, a fresh breeze and more photos to publish. The view out the back window when we settled back in was a golden hue with a horizon of fog. Yes more photos to add to the day.
