The meals provided at Homewood are truly delicious and varied. The camp chef has nailed the art of making enough for the volunteer staff of 6 or 7, and 36 hungry quilters. They offer a separate table for celiac, diabetic and gluten free diet. Each day a new menu for the three meals, and as the day progresses, some leftovers are re-fashioned for the next meal.
By now, quilt tops are starting to come together and a design wall or two (sheets taped to the wall for us to pin our pieces on as we lay out the quilt blocks before sewing them together). It is not a one-person job.
Our building, Rivendell is a very rustic looking building from the outside, but inside nicely finished with the large working space for quilting and crafting. The dining hall has access to the kitchen, a piano, the dining tables and a huge - a really huge fireplace. I sat in one of the big comfy leather chairs by the hearth and enjoyed the smell, the crackle and the heat.
