1967 Otter Rapids to The Pas

Otter Rapids to Pelican Narrows Pelican Narrows to Amisk Lake Amisk Lake to The Pas and home Back Home

This was a long three week canoe trip from Otter Rapids all the way down the Churchill River system and then all the way down the Sturgeon-Weir River to the Saskatchewan River and ending at The Pas.

Del, Marcel, Stan, and Milow got a ride to Otter Rapids from Ken Holliday. They then set off on the trip.

When they were traversing the portage at Scoop Rapids, Del injured his leg. This portage is right at mile 190 of the Hanson Lake Road where the Sturgeon-Weir River passes under a bridge at that point. They left Del at the Pawistik Lodge located by the rapids, at which point he made his way home with one of the canoes and the other three continued on the trip with the second canoe.

Upon completion of the trip at The Pas, Manitoba, the three travelled home to Regina by train.
