Lee says - thank goodness. Almost seven cubic feet of photographs and paper was stored in the truck and went to a shredder this morning.
When we got back we noticed that the serious wind we had around 6 am had pulled one of our slide covers almost off. Lee put it back as best as possible; they will be off in two weeks or so and not go back on until next fall.
Lez yawns - the alarm goes off at 6:30 this morning - what Well, that's what we wanted - leave here around 7 so we can meet the shredder in Naniamo at 8. We were already awake though. The Schooner was rocking like we were truly on the high seas. These were the strongest wind gusts we have dealt with in the RV. The wind was roaring and rain was coming down in buckets. We were dry and warm inside.
At least nothing of our was actually blown away outside, and we did not get too wet getting into the truck. That attached garage at the old house would have been appreciated today. Our neighbour's small shed was moved. We noticed a lot of evergreen tree branches on the roadways as we travelled to and in Nanaimo. The storm was far-reaching - and was predicted.
It didn't take us long to do our chores which included a mega shop at the Super Store, loading up on the household paper products needed to get through life over the next while. We should be good well into the travels heading back into Edmonton area. We were home by lunch time and noticed a large flock of birds flying around the Parksville beach and low tide. I grabbed the camera and hurried out to the Sea Wall and caught the Brant Geese flocks. No closeups though. I should have put my rubber boots on to tackle the low tide pools for a closer look.
After that I settled in with my sewing machine to finish the curtains for the big window at Lee's desk. The curtains in the main kitchen/living area really give a homey feeling. Only five more windows to go. Oh - we've decided to make a set to use as closet doors instead of the heavy mirrored wooden ones. Good thing I bought lots of that fabric.
