No, not for the fans to help clean the ice after yet another Zamboni breakdown. The Oceanside Generals faced the best team in BC Junior B hockey, the Campbell River Storm who had only lost two games all year. Well, as they say, the play-offs are a different animal. The Generals beat them four straight. What a wonderful feeling in the Howie Meeker Arena at the end of that game.
Lez grins: Yes, the Generals team had a broom and the post game on ice play was sweeping. They played well, we all cheered hard! We made it to the game a scant 15 minutes before start time - and did get seating space on the benches close to the folk we chat with a lot at the games. There were 909 people at the game!
We spent the day at Shawnigan Lake, at the Royal Canadian Malahat Legion Br. 134, at a quilting bee day. Yes, 'we' as my man came along too! The YSAG - Young Seniors Action Group had asked me to come out and share my "quilting story". Lee held up quilts while I talked about them, and I shared a power point presentation that shares how and where I got started quilting and what event started the Canadian Quilts of Valour. We had cake and tea and we talked and talked.
End of day I was exhausted.
