Rainbows and sunrise.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee observed that this was an unusual morning for us. We were up by 7 am. That seven rarely occurs in our lives. But what it did do is provide some really nice sunrise photos. And later on, we had a vibrant rainbow over the Parksville Bay.
Lez wakes up just before the alarm was set to wake us up: An alarm you chuckle. Well, I have a coffee date with a quilter friend Chris Longmore at 10, so I figured this would not be a morning to sleep until 10. Bonus - some great sunrise photos.
After breakfast, Lee and I walked up to Jensen St - he stopped at the barber shop, while I carried on to the coffee shop. Chris and I caught up on a couple of months of our worlds. We are both members of the local Parksville quilt guild, but we have not had a "live" guild meeting or coffee visit since before Christmas. It was great to catch up with her.
Once back at the Schooner for lunch, the blue skies and warm sun then beckoned me to move my quilt project to the picnic table outside. We moved it to the front of the Schooner so I could sit outside in the sun and pin the quilt top, batting and backing together. The table top is the biggest place I have to be able to tape the quilt back to the table and then pin it and the batting layer and top layer all together.
It was both a productive and lazy afternoon.
We went for another late evening walk, yes in the dark, as the air was still. There was no moon but many stars and it was not too cold. From the Sea wall, we can see the lights of French Creek as they reflect into the Parksville Bay. We often go walkabout late at night - and can count on one hand the number of RV's with lights still on. I believe it was around 10 to maybe 20 units, out of perhaps 300.
