Great neighbours make great conversation.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee notes that the weather today makes it hard not to like living at Surfside. The temperature was already 13c when he got up. And later, when we walked to the post office, we ran into, literally, a blast of warm air. It must have been almost 20c at that moment. It only lasted a few seconds, but reminded us why we call it the Pineapple Express.
Our neighbour Ron joined us for supper (his wife Cami is away on the mainland). As always, the great Nasi Goreng was accompanied by lively discussions about almost anything and everything.
Lez notes: A very quiet, non exploring, no adventures or mischief to get into today. Our walk to the Post Office was very quiet, as we enjoyed warm breezes on our walk at the end of the estuary. We picked up the new battery for my laptop. The old battery was not charging and had dropped to 2 percent charged. We could not figure out what was going on, so purchased a new one. Well, after it was ordered, and I had unplugged the unit overnight, the next day it charged all day - and is once again fully charged. Well, we have a spare battery now.
I cleared up the sewing space to make the place look somewhat tidy. Hobbes enjoyed going outside a few times today, always with one of us, but this time without his halter and leash. He does not wander far, but i'm sure he knows Theresa's place - the neighbour who brings out cat treats when she sees Hobbes or the neighbour's cat - today both cats were treated at her place. Spoiled.
The kitchen spiced up with the made from scratch Nasi and along with wine, and great company and discussions carried us well into the evening.
Life in the RV - just like life in a house. Life wintering in an RV resort - just like living in a neighbourhood of houses.
