Lee took the mouthy feline out a couple of times during the infrequent sunshine (read: non-raining) periods early today. It soon turned normal (read: rain) and he was stuck inside again.
We went in to Courtenay later on for some shopping, dinner and a Ron James presentation. What a funny guy he is, and all Canadian too. And he's not afraid to go into the sensitive areas either. The Catholic church took an absolute beating. And his comments about getting old were side-splitting.
Lez notes: Lee says we give our Omni-faceted Observations, our Friday Findings. And that's only after one coffee LOL. I think he is being jocular.
So, Friday in Surfside on a sunny day . oh wait one . Clouds are appearing. It was a fairly quiet day in the RV, Lee at the computer and I'm 'playing with fabric'. I was very liberal in using up RV space (inside and outside) with totes of fabric, and am SO thankful dear hubby was agreeable. I have some Christmas gifties that will be coming forth over the next few weeks. No, we are not getting a tree, nor decorating the RV. It would mean another tote to store and carry for the other 11 months of each year. We may end up with fewer totes of fabric before our adventure is over, though.
We left mid-afternoon for Courtenay and some shopping chores, hitting the 'big box stores' that are underfire these days in the trend to shop local. I am very curious - I wonder who is employed by those big box stores - and where would our neighbours and friends work if the big box stores that employ them were to close. I shop local - large and small.
So, you may wonder, why we drove all the way to Courtney. Big smile - we were there because we went to see comedian Ron James. Oh my sides hurt. No topic was taboo. From the moment he greeted the crowd to his farewell, the stories, the musings, the facial expressions to go with his act and the non-stop 'where is that mind going' left us with comical perspectives of life we will not forget! And he's Canadian, eh!
