Wrong RV there, Hobbes.
Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)
Lee has taken Hobbes out for a number of walks, and so has Lez. He seems to recognize the estuary and the foliage between it and the row of RVs. However, when he wants to go home, he heads to the RV next to us (with the same style of step). He climbs their step and waits. Luckily, no one is using that RV at the moment. We'll see what happens when they show up.
Lee set up the awning and poles to get a sense of how it will work. The ends of the (original, circa 2011) awning flap a lot in the wind. A solution is in the works, er, mind.
Lez climbs a very tall ladder: Yikes - it is the stable ladder but it still is a long ways up to the top of the RV! We have put the slide-out vinyl covers over their tops for the winter. It will keep the rain from settling on the slide-out tops and potentially leaking into the Schooner. It hasn't happened yet, but other areas of rubber seals are seeing the effectiveness of their old age, so we are mitigating what we can. The big awning makes a lot of noise in the wind (prairies are not the only windy places as we have learned!). Lee tested a setup and we will install for the winter once the upcoming week of rain has abated.
The sun shone all day - got my first good photo of Mt. Arrowsmith this season - the view out our kitchen table area is free of other RV units and overhead power lines. This is a great RV site.
We had our first "surprise" knock on the door this afternoon. MOM! She was out to do her grocery chores etc and decided to stop by! A wonderful visit.
We had purchased a big pumpkin, so I cleaned it out tonight, saving and salting and roasting the pumpkin seeds as always. The face design for a "Jack -o' lantern" is being decided before cutting into it. A spot on our parking pad entrance will make a great "greeter" location for Jack.
