Alf and Anne moved to a house in Maple Creek after selling the farm. We visited them many times over the years, usually in conjunction with a visit to the Cypress Hills. Alf and Anne owned a number of VWs after they moved, including a series of Westphalian campers that they used to tour around, including a number of trips to see Anne's sister in Ontario.

Alf became a driving instructor in his spare time.

During his time in Swift Current, Alf was involved in the Legion and the Salvation Army.
