Grandma's birthday parties.

We celebrated Janie Worel's 90th birthday one day early with many friends and family members present.

The first event was in the building where mom lives. A number of her friends that live there came down to join the party for cake and coffee. Janie had all four of her children there as well as nephew Herb Erwin and wife Janice, and grand children Arjay, Korynn and Susynn.

In the evening, we had a nice BBQ in Herb and Jan's backyard in Qualicum Beach. We were also entertained by Phoebe, Herb and Jan's two year old chocolate lab.

Family and friends gathered from near and far to celebrate mom's 90th birthday. Cousin Jan did a SUPER job decorating the party room with her artistic flair. We kids were designated various duties in preparation, and the team pulled it off.

We had an opportunity to say hello to and also meet more of mom's neighbours and friends that have been a part of her world in Parksville.

We picked up the cake my brother ordered, and added a few cupcakes just in case that was not enough, LOL and enjoyed more later at the BBQ.

Weather cooperated with clear skies and no wind, as family moved over to Herb and Jan's to enjoy and share our recollections and stories of the life of Janie Mom added a lot of details and us kids learned a lot more about our mom and mentor.
