End of the first work week.
Port Ordze, Sherwood Park, AB (2 stars)
Lee is feeling pretty good about his efforts. The tons and tons of election material are organized, counted and ready to pack. Not bad for an old fart, he thinks.
We had a nice, quiet night and were settled into bed when Hobbes started complaining and having very difficult, uh, bowel movements. Lez found a veterinarian that is open at 3 am, which happened to be 30 seconds down the road from the Schooner. Go figure.
Hobbes was admitted immediately. We went back to the Schooner for a short, fitfull sleep.
Lez is healing: Each day is better, and still taking it easy. I spent a quiet day around the Schooner and Hobbes was his usual hunter - out most of the day and sleeping soundly for a few hours after he comes in and eats.
However, as the night took over our sleep was forshortened as Lee noted. Hobbes is in good hands, and we will have a diagnosis in the morning.
