Lee felt brave today and determined it would be a good day for Lez to drive. LOL. She's got it nailed. We worked our way to Moosomin, which has a quilt store. However, we are in small town Saskatchewan. The door sign read 'Closed for lunch'. Fine. We did the same and had lunch at a nice cafe/bakery across the street.
We then headed for Esterhazy and the acreage of QOV reps Dan and Joyce Karau who Lez wanted to meet in person. What a nice surprise that was. A beautiful home and yard. We had supper together and found out that Joyce is actually of Dutch heritage. So, more conversation until after the sun went down.
Lez notes: Actually, I suggested I would like to drive today. We took a few more elevator photos, and enjoyed a very refreshing lunch in Witch's Brew coffee house. They make great wraps - a perfect lunch.
We got settled on the Karau's acreage - complete with power, water and sewer. Their property has many gophers, so the fox and coyote are not far away either. Our gracious hosts invited us for dinner, and we brought over our corn on the cob. Yes we talked, exhanged ideas, laughed and realized the the six degrees of separation certainly has gone by the wayside. We both know a person involved in the Opimian Society totaly unrelated to travel or quilting or acreage living on the Canadian prairies.
They also have a 5th wheel so a lot of tips were appreciated and shared. Yes, until well after the sun went down - and if you know the prairie sunsets in June - they are late!
