The Humphreys family bought one section of land a mile west of Cannington Manor. The family had ten children and were quite well off so they built a suitable house for the family.
How about nine bedrooms and a billiard room.
As the children married and moved away, the family started converting some of the house to store grain. Strange but true.
When Hewletts bought the place, they converted it back to a residence. They lived there until about 1979. It originally had a tin roof, which reflected the sun in many directions. Neighbours called it the Shiny House.
