Slide 'em in and slide 'em out.
Port Ordze, Sherwood Park AB (2 stars)
Today was a day of testing our equipment before we hit the road. First, we walked through Lez's checklist for getting the inside of the Schooner ready. We finished that off by bringing the slideouts in and making sure that they worked properly. Things went well but we do have to cover a small opening under the bedroom slideout so Hobbes doesn't go crawling in there. Next, we backed up Chuck to see how well he lined up with the Schooner. Lee needed to raise the Curt hitch by four inches in order to better align them. After cleaning up, we took the Zeisslers to Earls for a thank you dinner. When we got home, we all sat around the firepit for a while. It was almost dark when we walked back to the Schooner and Hobbes was still out somewhere. We walked the acreage calling for him and decided to go back to the Schooner to make coffee. As we were about to go in, guess who walked up What a great guy!
Lez observed: What a long list! But thorough - and needs to be. I missed turning off the big bladed fan - could have been a disaster! We made it through ok. No splinters.
We had a great evening with our hosts, and we will be missing each other. Great friends.
