Flying to the RCR luncheon.
Port Ordze, Sherwood Park AB (2 stars)
It felt like it was going to be a hot day today. Lee did some yard work and then we had showers and went to the Pachino Day lunch with the Royal Canadian Regiment veterans (RCR CWO Bobby Girouard Branch). As usual, the kidding was in high gear. After lunch we went across the street to the Flying J for, you know it, a dump. We came back and took it easy for the rest of the day. This was interrupted only by Hobbes's long absence. When Lee was reconnecting the water hose, he saw Hobbes heading west. After about an hour and a half, we wandered the acreage calling his name, with no luck. We decided to wait for a while. Meanwhile, Lee emptied the grey tanks. As he was putting things away, here comes Hobbes from the west, ambling along like there was nothing going on. Lez finished our new placemats and we are determined not to immediately get them dirty.
Lez adds: The RCR vets are a very special group and I feel priviledged to get to know them.
