Belly button blues.
Port Ordze, Sherwood Park AB (2 stars)
Lez woke up at 4:44 am and noticed a rash-like patch on her herniated belly button. Not taking any chances, she phoned 811 and they advised she go to emergency. So there we were at 5:00 am driving to the Strathcona County Regional Hospital. Luckily, there were no other people in the waiting room, so Lez was triaged almost right away. The end result was a bandage and assurances from the doctor (via blood work and X-ray) that everything was fine. The funny part of the visit though was the almost four hours we sat in an examination room as we waited for blood to be drawn and X-rays to be taken. At one point, both of us fell asleep, Lee in a chair and Lez on the gurney. Then, Lez decided to check out the contents of each cupboard. Finally, she made a spelling correction on a posted sign in the triage room and thanked them via a note on the white board. Then we were off to Ricky's for breakfast (boy, were we hungry). Later, we took our considerable load of laundry over to Chris and Aarons (in the rain). We had a great family dinner with lots of laughs. And to top it off, we went out and got Dairy Queen for dessert. Then we headed back home (in the rain again). All's well that ends well!
Lez relieved notes: Now to book appointment with Doc and have the hernia dealt with.
