Check-ups and re-packs.
Glowing Embers RV Park, Acheson, AB (2 stars)
Lee is relieved when the end of the day comes and the Schooner's work is complete. The bearings have been repacked and we are ready for many more kilometers on Roads Less Gravelled.
The day had been interesting. Hobbes came with us in the truck and generally was not interested in leaving the truck whenever we stopped. He is a real trooper, though.
A checkup for Lee and a checkup and some maintenance for the Schooner brought me to the University of Alberta (parking lot) where Hobbes could wander in the grassy area beside Chuck and we could await the pickup call from Lee. Well, Hobbes was not interested in leaving the truck. So windows ajar for air, he stayed in the locked truck while I wandered into Corbett Hall, where I worked for a couple of years assisting Dr. Cernak in her research into Canadian Military and Veterans' Clinical Rehabilitation Research Program. A few different names on the doors of the offices, but the same feeling and smells. I was pleased to see the big maple leaf quilt was still hanging on the wall of the north-east entrance.
