Missing this and that.

When Lee plans an upcoming spot to stay in he already knows what services we will get and which ones we will not. That generally does not affect our rating of the site.
However this place just seems to irritate us. No water hookup, no sewer hookup, noisy neighbours, smoking neighbours, no cell service, and a narrow pad. We will leave tomorrow for sure.
On a brighter note, a white tailed deer and two fawns were wandering not far from our site, eating chokecherries. We took Hobbes for a walk, which was fine until he saw the deer. It reminded him of the deer encounter at Surfside last winter. He hightailed it back to the Schooner.
One does not realize how much we rely on having WIFI and cell service. As we do our blogs, there is sometimes a reference we would like to look up to be correct in the blog, name that bird, share information about the region we are visiting. We also like to keep in touch with the boys, or download a movie, or just check email.
As I was on my computer, with windows wide open to let in the fresh cool evening air, I took in - quite unintended - a good whiff of the neighbour's cigarette smoke. GROSS! We closed up all windows on that side of the unit. I think that spoiled an otherwise tolerable site for us.
Normally Hobbes wanders and has to be coaxed back to the Schooner. One look at the deer and we were almost running to keep up with him. Needless to say, treats were given and he settled into his comfy spot in front of the fireplace (not on, it's just his fave place). It IS also his fave place in the fall and winter cool evenings and we have the fake flames and real heat coming out of it.
