Chuck now has battle scars.

Lee notes this was a typical late evening, aka early morning bedtime for Lez and him. It was about 12:30 am and a lively lightning show morphed into an incredible hail storm followed by rain storm. The hail sounded like gunshots on the roofs of the slides or as Lez put it, someone dumping a bucket of golf balls on the slides.
Early (for us) next morning Lee went out before breakfast to check for damage. And yes, there was damage. Several vent covers and the shower skylight on the Schooner had been smashed. And Chuck's front hood and roof had dents from the hail. Lee spoke to a neighbour in the RV park who recalls seeing hail stones the size of golf balls.
Well, off to the local RV dealer (less than a click away) to see about some replacement parts. Luckily, they had all the required parts in stock. They also mentioned that they had suffered RV damage as a result of that storm. Not a good result for many in East Regina last night.
So, we are tucked in nicely, almost asleep and there is a sound of something hitting the RV - like someone threw a rock. Lee can't figure out why I got up. It had started to rain, that's nothing new. Then the skies opened up - rain, lightning, rolling thunder and then a sound I have never heard and never want to again! The video we share is really nothing to look at - it was 12:30 a.m. and very dark out - and VERY noisy. That was hail, that we have since learned was about the size of golf balls, pummeling the tops of the slide-outs and the Schooner roof. It stopped as quickly as it started, and we were able to get some sleep, but apprehensive as to what damage we would find in the morning. Lee has noted the 'battle scars'.
As Lee wandered the campground to check how others had fared, he made an interesting observation - the GMC's all had little pock marks, and the Ford's did not! Hmmm - a thicker metal on the Ford
After picking up the necessary parts to replace broken roof pieces, we went over to Pete and Marg's for a visit. We decided on a dinner out with them at Brown's Social House. Right stuffed!
