Boy, this was a surprise. Lee had seen Sweet at Three Forks Rockin the River in Montana some years ago. Their bass player Steve Priest has passed since then and the band has new members.
We were blown away by their vocalist. He was full of energy around the stage, into the crowd, and up on one of the speaker tower support.
A young girl was being held up by her mom at the front of the crowd. He helped her over the crowd control fence and took her on stage. He then had her read out the next song on the set list before returning her to her mom. And at the end of the concert, they gave her the used drum sticks. A very nice touch.
They ended their set with their classic 'Ballroom Blitz' and 'Fox on the Run'.
Sweet was a sweet surprise and will bring more smiles each time I hear them on the radio.
