Marlin and Karin's house, Kona-Kailua HI (2 stars)
We drove down Highway 19 and stopped at Kealakekua Bay where we got a good view of the Captain James Cook Monument and the pound waves in the bay.
Next, then we visited the Kealakekua Bay State Historic Park. This is where the Hawaiian royalty were typically buried before the British and Americans arrived. Lots of history, including some ki'i Carved poles similar to totems in Canada. Ki'i means "images of Hawaiian gods".
A very lazy day for us as we were chauffeured around the island. I've lost count and don't dare look into how many photos have been taken. Given camera technology of yester year, we would have purchased countless rolls of film.
