While running some errands, Lee notices that the price of gas in Parksville has dropped to 147.9. It seems like only yesterday we were paying 229.9. Lee cannot resist the urge to check Gas Buddy for the Edmonton prices. Holy cow - 98.9!

Another grey day, the overcast is a yellow-grey with no disernable clouds. There is also no disernable mainland. I am updating the Christmas poem to end 2023.

We observed another very high tide this morning, the ducks enjoying the wet straggly grasses sticking out of the water. The estuary channel behind the Schooner today is littered with what we have called flotsam and setsam. Well that's incorrect as I learn in research. Lots of big words, but it simplifies to harmful algae growth that blocks sunlight, and plants die without sunlight. Eventually the algae dies too. That is what is floating out there today. Bacteria digest the dead plants, using up remaining oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. I learn more about our earth everyday. Fascinating.

Day's not over! Was that an earthquake or did a new shipment of boulders arrive to be dumped somewhere in this resort The Schooner was rocking! No information as of 3:41pm. Oh well, I'll go with the boulders upgrading on the sea wall walkway.
