We had a great time around the firepit with Ron and Cami this afternoon, sharing stories about lives, our experiences, and what life and Surfside might hold for us in the future. They have become close friends and great neighbours.

I'll miss you, you tree huggers, you.

Lez smiles that content smile: Good neighbours have become great friends and yet we did not "do" a lot together. Elena and and Helmut will be a must visit one day when we can travel Europe again.

Daily conversations next door along with a few deep discussions - politics, economics, boring as Ron and Lee easily shared different views. Cami and I didn't have as many conversations, but really shared a lot of common adventures as moms, sisters and wives, as well as both with a love of crafting, feathers and beads. Tears were close as we said our farewells.

So endeth our first year in the RV, and our first winter in Parksville.
