Travelling east from Milk River takes us through typical Alberta ranch lands. There are hoodoo-like features in some areas and the occasional farm implement to pull over for.

Many smaller water ponds and dugouts are dried out now. Those ranches and farms that have grown grain or hay seem to have had a great growing season. There are hundreds of round and square bales in the fields.

There are not many large stands of trees but mostly single trees in places where you think they would not grow. And most of them are in full fall colours.
