The Waterton Townsite is probably what many people wish Jasper and Banff look like. And many years ago they probably did. It is calm and peaceful. There are a lot of visitors walking around but you can still park your vehicle on the main streets.

There are a couple of clothing stores, a few hotels and a few restaurants. And the vintage movie theatre continues to show current films.

The shore of Waterton Lake has a pebble beach, better described as a shoreline. We ate our lunch at a picnic table along the shore. Later, we drove a few blocks to the campground which was still a hub of activity.
