Smoke on September 11, no kidding.
We all remember the morning of September 11 of course, the smoke and devastation. So what should happen to us this morning, but a fire alarm in our apartment building.
We grabbed our coats and went outside. Soon, there were six, count them, six fire trucks in our parking lot. As it turns out, somebody on the third floor did have a small fire of some kind. Less than 45 minutes later, all was well and we were let back in.
What a show tonight.
The Outlaws and Lynyrd Skynyrd pounding out some classic southern rock and roll. We were not disappointed. The Outlaws closed with Green Grass and High Tides, the one song Alec and Lee drove down to Montana to hear and see many years ago. And Lynyrd Skynyrd closed with their classic, Free Bird.
The audience obviously knew both bands quite well as evidenced by the singing along. That reached its peak with Simple Man - just great. And then there was a touching piece as they played Tuesday's Gone while showing a tribute to the late Gary Rossington. Not many dry eyes after that one.
