We got a chance to see the Dyde House, located on the property but mostly out of view and use. The house was designed by noted Canadian architect Arthur Erickson who is famous for such designs as Simon Fraser University, Lethbridge University, the Canadian Embassy in Washington, and Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.
The house, designed for noted Edmonton couple Sandy and Bobby Dyde, is Erickson's only house design in Alberta. It was also his first house designed to use masonary.
The University of Alberta hopes to one day restore the house and make it accesible to the general public.
