Next stop was the old village of Tregarva which now has only two houses. The rest is gone. Lee hauled wheat to the Tregarva Pool elevator with Alf Poulter in the 60's. We took some photos of what evidence is left, which is not much.
We then drove a couple of miles south to what was formerly the town of Brora. It also had grain elevators, also long gone. What is left is the Brora United Church building. It is now a residence and Lee struck up a conversation with the owner who was working in his yard. It turns out that Lee went to school with him and his sister at Thom Collegiate. A small world indeed.
We finished the day by visiting with Brenda Hicks, a long time friend of Lez's. Her daughter Tammy also stopped by and we had a reminiscent time. We then took Brenda for supper at the Lakeshore Restaurant, still a going concern after all these years. We first ate there in 1975 when we lived in Roberts Plaza across the street, still the highest apartment building in Regina.
