From north country to the prairies.
Map - Fort Nelson to Fort St. JohnRotary RV Park, Fort St. John BC (2 stars)
Lee concludes that we went from one Canadian geographical area to another in one day, today. This morning, we were in the north country still, which is where Fort Nelson actually is. Then, by end of day, we were in wind blowing, grass smelling, mostly flat country that resembles the prairies, in Fort St. John.
What a difference 350 kilometers makes.
A day of a lot of driving for Lee, but so much to see as the land changed. The thick forest slowly thinned out and the rolling land became very prairie.
As Lee drove, I was taking pictures of the horizon out my window. The camera was focused on the fireweed and other flowers along the forest edge. Lee started to laugh - my focus was so concentrating on the distant views, I did not even see the bear ambling in the ditch right beside the highway.
Our end of the day brought us to a Fort Saint John campground. We settled in and Lee made us a dinner of shrimp and chicken, stir-fried in the wok. Simple pleasures.
