Thunder in the mountains.
Map - Whitehorse to Haines JunctionPine Lake Territorial Campground, Haines Junction YT (2 stars)
We left the latest urban RV Park, the one in Whitehorse and headed for a rustic, rural campground. Down the Alaska Highway we went.
Pine Lake Territorial Campground has excellent, large sites. They supply firewood and nothing else. But, we have our generators with us so electricity is as close as a pull on the starter cord.
This place is so quiet. Maybe someone chopping some wood in the distance or some kids shouting as they play. It's a very nice change.
Tonight, we had a real firepit since, we think, 2022.
We are in Pine Lake Territorial Campground. We are dry camping - no power, no water hook up, no sewer connection. This is not a common occurrence, but we are ready for it. I wrote out - yes, by hand, the blog contents which I am transcribing in here on the 27th.
The sky is blue with thunderheads in the distance. We may see a rain storm. Golly - it's summer - what should we expect LOL. I am using a non-electrical device - a pen. Photos will be uploaded via Lee's computer, as his has more stored battery power than my laptop. With no power, there is no microwave to warm the delicious sausage rolls we purchased yesterday. So, makig a bowl of soup for lunch too, gave me the ability to do a make shift lid for the soup by using the tin-foil wrapped sausage rolls as the lid. That heated the rolls perfectly. Where there's a Worel there's a way.
We had the joy of getting to pet a Harlequin Great Dane, a memory of Mac, our Dane from many years ago.
