We meet up with the Karaus.
Williams Lake Stampede RV Park, Williams Lake BC (2 stars)
What are the chances we would run into friends again, by chance. Yup. This time it was the Karau's from Esterhazy. Their daughter lives in Williams Lake. So there we were, after they set up their unit, laughing and chatting in a brew pub in Williams Lake. We will leave tomorrow but they are here for a month.
BTW, our campground is next to the Williams Lake Stampede grounds. That stampede is the second largest in Canada, after the Calgary Stampede.
The day has started out gloomy grey and now a steady rain. No plans to explore - not even to find a museum. We get a text from friends from Esterhazy, the Karau's are headed in this direction. They follow our blog and texted that they will be in the same area! A correct forecast precluded our sitting outside and enjoying the firebowl. The local pub worked just fine to sit for several hours and catch up on the last couple of years.
Who would have expected Sask folk meeting up by chance in Williams Lake BC.
As evening set, the campground is reasonably full, clouds are very low, no one is venturing outside (except those with smaller RV units and needing to use the public facilities). So glad the Schooner is well appointed. Fireplace is on, it is comfortable in here. However, because all these folks in their big RV's are sitting here, I suspect our patchy internet throughput is compromised by the number of computers connected to the local WIFI. Will check back later and find something non-computer to do!
