Foot loose and fancy free.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

Lee attacked some outside Schooner chores today, all the while keeping an eye on Hobbes. We decided to let him out without his harness. Lee is not sure whether we have ever tried to grab him by his harness or his leash for that matter. So, harness free he goes. First trip - all the way down the channel to the road. I think he likes it, but Lee not so much.

Lez is pedal to the metal: More quilt stitching on the unicorn quilt.

Just to be clear, Hobbes still wears his collar and ID tags. And he knows where the best place down the way is for "treats". Theresa sees him coming and has a handful ready for him. So spoiled.

There was a lone Seiner on the Salish Sea today. I believe that means Herring season has begun. Curiously enough, the Sea Gulls (Glaucus) are neither sitting nor flocking around the Parksville beach park area or on the estuary. Perhaps they have found the trail of Herring and are enjoying the feed.

Meanwhile, on the estuary, the Canada Geese are quite paired up, and momma goose is sitting pretty still. We have not seen any "addling" of the eggs, but I'm sure that will come, as the wildlife conservationists strive to keep a limit to the number of the geese hatching.
