Sitting in the sunshine.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

We start out by going up the hill for some supplies. Are we on the coast - yes we are. The extensive meat section at Thrifty's has (apparently) a couple of hundred choices in their sea food and a couple of measly (sort of) hunks of red meat. It will be completely the other way around when we are in Alberta later this year.

After we get back, we sit on one of the benches in our "backyard" and enjoy the stillness, the geese, the ducks and the coffee. Hobbes wanders around on the estuary shoreline, never going very far from mom and dad.

Lez wakes up with the sun in her face: Well, the forecast was for pouring rain - I will not complain. We decided to take advantage of the weather to walk up the hill to Thrifty's for a few crucial groceries - cream for the coffee, pastrami for the rye, LOL. The wind is warm, but the clouds are coming in. When we came home, Hobbes wanted to go out, so we grabbed our second cup of coffee and followed his trail. Now hunkered down for the day, catching up on emails and a major blog update.

As always, we ended our evening with coffee and a movie. Tonight was a Martin Scorsese crime classic "The Departed" with quite the headline of actors - Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Walberg. Not for the faint of heart and at the total opposite end of the movie scale from "The Notebook" we watched the night before.
