Lazing on Maverick.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

Lee thinks that if Ralph's neighbour at the Ladysmith marina is any indication, then power boats are similar to sail boats in that they always need attention. Ralph believes the owner is at his boat every day. Maybe it is to get away from the wife, I'm just saying.

Ralph presents us with a braid of prairie sweetgrass. Lee knows the importance of sweetgrass to prairie indigenous people, but has never had any. Now, as he smells it, it reminds him of the prairies. He has smelled it in the air many times but never knew what it was.

Lez sighs: There is something soothing, slow down rocking on a boat. We visited Maverick which is Ralph's 30' Uniflite mega sedan bridge power boat. The waters were very calm at the Ladysmith Marina, so a few "artsy" style photos were taken. Sitting in the gentle rocking of the boat brought back a lot of great memories of the sailing trips we took in the 90's. I could to that again in a heartbeat.

We finished the day with dinner with Ralph at mom's. As always, lots of stories from the past family adventures. We also discussed the world's issues, as the news focus of the day is the Russian attacks on Ukraine.
